Who do you host with? I've got 4 domains, 3 sites, and am looking to change hosts. I'd be interested to know:
- who you host with?
- how's their uptime?
- do the give good service?
- what do they cost?
- how much space/traffic do they offer?
- do they have a good statistics report?
- are they MovableType friendly?
Alternatively a "I'm with Xweb and they're great!" and a link to their site yould be sufficient.
It'd also be interesting to hear about any negative experiences you've had with hosts. Thanks!

Insider Hosting -- http://www.insiderhosting.com
They're fantastic.

I just switched from dot5hosting to bloghosts ( http://www.bloghosts.com ), and they are amazing! I have three domains with them and if none of their packages fit you send them and e-mail and they will do custom packages too. Service has been amazing if you have a seirous issue they e-mail you back usually within the half hour of a submission for help. They have a very good control panel with lots of nice features, as well as 4 or 5 different stat packages for tracking things on your site. I would *HIGHLY* recommend them.
On the other hand I would *NOT* recomend dot5hosting they had my server down for 3 months then they offered me 4 free months with their virtual server. The guy I spoke to said that he could restore my site to the last backup and it would take no longer than 24 hrs. I called 2 days later when my site was still not up and the 4 "free" months had cost me $60 on my credit card. Needless to say I am still trying to get a refund for the 3 months they didnt provide service for me but charged me. Right now dot5hosting has stolen over $100 from me. Not too much fun. Stay away from them. Bloghosts are good!

I use futurequest. http://www.FutureQuest.net/
I love them. I seriously have written them love letters. LOL. Incredible uptime, INCREDIBLE service - I've sent them questions in the middle of the night on a weekend and heard back within the hour. They are super friendly and know their stuff.
Their packages range in price... I'd have to check. I think I pay $23/month for 250GB. They're not the cheapest out there, but the nice thing is you can put all of your different sites on one account. I currently have four different sites all on one single account, and the URLs are mapped seamlessly -- it looks like I really have four seperate accounts.
Their web interface is easy to use for setting up email and managing/uploading files. You can also use it to check your email while you're away from your main computer. Other handy stuff I'm not thinking of right this sec.
Stat report is so-so. I think it would be better, but I have all these different sites and I haven't taken the time to figure out if there's a way to seperate the stats for each site.
I don't use MT - my understanding is that they are MT friendly, but not with their base level package. Search their communities for "MT" and you'll find tons of info from experienced MT users there. Or shoot them an email asking any questions you have. I promise you'll be impressed with the response you get.

I use http://www.hostedtoday.com $5/month with 5 gigs of traffic. Great company

I host on textdrive http://www.textdrive.com if you're into the Textpattern, MT or Wordpress sort of things they are way above anything you might expect from a host, they also happen to be real people with a real concern for you.and their uptime probably sets the world record.
on a larger scale (with fixed IP) I host with gearworx http://www.gearwork.net amazing speed of delivery (I host all my qtvr with them) from anywhere on the planet plus a sh*tload of goodies preinstalled and if you can't find what you need just ask, they'll put it up for you. them too are real people, I've had enough of call centers, and virtual capitalists.

I'm currently with pMachineHosting.com. They're the same people who run pMachine, makers of ExpressionEngine. I got a 20% discount on EE when I signed up with them. For $19.99 a month, I get 400 MB storage, unlimited subdomains, 100 MB MySQL storage, 10,000 MB Web transfer, and 30 Email accounts (with 30 MB per E-mail account). Never had any downtime and have been very pleased with their service.

Forgot to mention that pMachineHosting, com is MT friendly.

I use iPowerWeb. I get 40GB of bandwidth per month, 1GB of space, a free domain, all scripts support, 500 email accounts, and I've never had a problem with downtime. It's $7.95 a month. They're at: http://www.ipowerweb.com/

A second vote for iPower. I have used them for a couple of years and I think they just keep improving. Their tech support is great (live chat) and they recently improved their control panel with lots of plug ins like shopping carts and stuff if you want to get into all that.

i got in with http://dreamhost.com/ when they were having their huge anniversary sale, and i have loved them ever since. their uptime is great, their support team is fast and actually helpful, and i have never had any problems with mt on their servers.

I'm with nearly free speech - http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net - I have registered a few domain names with them (at the cheapest prices I have ever seen for domain names) and have four sites up and running at the moment; my notReality photoblog, the photoblogring site, a wiki for work + another experimental site I mess with. PHP, Apache, MySQL support, pricing plans that are quite amazing really and with a fast response time for technical support, I have had no negative experiences with them and I would recommend them whole-heartedly Matt.

I host with http://www.pair.com/ - have been with them since 1997 and never seen a non-scheduled outage of my sites (except if your bill is overdue some 2 months.... bummer) .
They might not have the gazillion giga hard disk quotas, but they give you options to pay for what you need. Running Movable Type there, multiple domains etc; no problem at all. Reasonable pricing; good reporting, good do it yourself server setup-options (https://my.pair.com/)

We've been using http://www.dreamhost.com since '99. They're great. We host numerous sites for ourselves and clients. 3 of which are photoblogs running MT.

I have 7 sites hosted with http://www.linksky.com and they're great! 6 bucks a month, excellent service, and I've even written them letters telling them how awesome they are. (if you go with them, tell them I sent ya, all referalls get a free month hosting, cool!)

While I agree that Bloghosts HAS BEEN one of the best hosts around, check out their own forum before you make the plunge. They have had in the past GREAT FAST service, but something has gone terribly wrong. Getting any service now seems to be an impossibility. I do hope they get their issues worked out ASAP ...

Being a hypermedia major at my University, Ive been through my share of hosting in the last 2 years. Support rocks, HD space is AMAZING (esp for photographers), and I think in the last few months I've had a total of 10 minutes downtime when a DOS attack hit the server, in which case support contacted me right away and had the issue solved pretty quick. Im lovin' it.

I find LivingDot (http://www.livingdot.com) to be amazing, just amazing. Besides hosting blogs and free movabletype they also provide free web site builder and free domain name. Service is top notch. Servers are super fast. Can't go wrong with them.

I've recently registered with http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net and so far they've been very good; I haven't finished getting my 2 sites up and running yet but their prices are the best I've seen without any ads, and have a very sensible payment system too. -they're actually the first paid hosting I've used as they're the only one that appeared to be good value. They responded fast to any queries with helpful answers. They also have no restrictions on content as long as it is legal. Not what I'd suggest for the inexperienced; (a no-frills no-problems service from what i gather.) So far, I'd thoroughly reccommend them.

Try http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net
You pay for what you get!

Local support and payment in local currency is what attracted me to my hosting provider. Unfortunately it was only after getting things up and running did I realise support was only business hours. Alas downtime has also been a frustration. Caveat emptor.

anyone use and like Expressions?
June 17th, 2007 at 2:36 am
I use one.com for my hosting, they are cheep, fast and reliable - and their service has so far worked for me (they have 24/7 support).
Price is around 9 ddk pr month (1,63$) for their small pack, which gives unlimited traffic and 1000mb space. + some google adwords..
Their statistic page is okay - showing refeers etc., but I do not use it enough to say how good og bad it really is.
And they support ASP - PHP5 - MySQL...
