First of all, thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about Freelancing. Your advice was quite helpful and informative!
Secondly, I'd like to express my satisfaction with WHCC for photo printing. Upon setting up my account, I was asked to submit five photos for 8x10 printing and monitor calibration. I received the prints today and I am so very impressed with the quality and clarity. Their prices are great, and coupled with the super-fast turnaround, it's more than I could have asked for!
Thirdly, I'd like to know if anyone has had success with finding a company to print photo greeting cards. WHCC has a greeting card program, but the cards aren't the folded type - they're the single pane printed on photo paper with or without a greeting of some sort. I'd like to find a company that prints the "traditional" greeting cards, the type which are printed on a folded sheet of quality stock. I know CafePress prints cards, but the pricing is pretty high. If you know of a place that does this sort of printing, please pass along the information.
Happy November, everyone!

Excellent. I've been looking for a printer that makes an attempt to calibrate. I'm going to give them a shot.

Does WHCC have a icc profile/print calibration they can send clients or download on their website?
Did any of the five prints you received b/w prints?
My digital production instructure uses calypso.com for light jet prints. His prints run in the thousands and prints are inexpensive respectively. Calypso has an icc profile you can download into your computer.
If you don't know what icc is go to http://www.color.org it will explain why your prints doens't look like what's on the monitor.

I want to second the recommendation for WHCC. They're extremely fast and responsive, and treat everyone like a professional. My only complaint is the miniumum order rates, but the prices are really hard to beat.
The Kodak Endura Metallic paper for B/W is totally insane.

I've used Mpix three times now, all 8x10 prints on the Endura Metallic Paper. That stuff is magic for sepia and B&W. Mpix quality and pricing is great, but I hadn't heard of WHCC yet.
After perusing their site, it looks like their prices are about the same as Mpix except WHCC has free 2 day shipping. Although they have a $12.00 minimum, that still blows Mpix's minimum $4.95 s/h charge out of the water. With the tales above of WHCC's quality, I'll be trying them out soon.
Thanks for the tip all!

I am just finishing up some senior pictures for one of my friends sister. I was curious if any of you knew a good place to get wallet prints from. I am kinda looking for a place that will cut them as well.

Dyanna, I just ran across this link for greeting cards, its about the same as cafe press but you have the option of discounts for more than one item regardless of if they are the same or not.
http://www.zazzle.com/welcome/intro/products/cards.asp
wasnt sure if that was what you were looking for but maybe someone else will benifit from the link as well. They also have some very good prices for quite large prints. You can get a 4.3 foot by 6.5 foot image for $130

Brian, thanks for the link - I will definitely check it out.
Try WHCC for wallet prints. They offer the traditional 8-wallets-per-page and I believe they also offer the senior portrait style/die-cut photos in their Pick a Pack package (http://whcc.com/output_picpack.html). Since the wallets are originally 8 to a sheet, I assume you must order in multiples of 8. If anything, try calling their customer support number - they've been very helpful to me and I'm sure they'd be able to tell you if they can do what you're looking for. Good luck!

Late to the post, but I just wanted to add for any future readers that I had great results from http://www.cardstore.com with our Christmas cards this past year.

I don't think they've (WHCC) implemented it yet, but their holiday greeting card mentioned "high end folded greeting cards" as one of the programs to be announced this year.
Also I second (or fifth, or tenth or wherever we've reached) WHCC for their excellent service and customer relations.
