For all our data recovery needs for the past 3-4 years we use (our company) only www.data-r-us.com They have very competitive, firm prices, and serious specialists in data recovery field. No gimmics. I would recommend them to anyone who is in trouble of losing data.

Hi,
For pictures recovery we using UFS Explorer Professioanal Recovery product.

http://www.ufsexplorer.com

There are also cheaper 'Standard Recovery' edition.
It works very well: we already forgot about other solutions.
There are two related tools: Undelete (works on FAT and NTFS) and RAW recovery.
Undelete is VERY fast; RAW recovery is slower, but wouldn't miss anything!
Now I'm even not afraid to delete files both on my cameras and HDD :)
Really recommend!

Hi,
I have experienced a similar problem with missing files. It happened once and then again about a year later. One was a wedding and the other a prom. I was shooting with a canon 20D. I could not explain it but it was only one folder that was empty. Canon also could not explain it. I recovered the shots with a download from: http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/
and you can try it to see if the images are recovered before you pay the $30.00 for the software key. I was shooting with a microdrive both times and have now gone to large compact flash cards instead of microdrives. Good luck!!
