Brandon's photos 'featured' on Real Time with Bill Maher -- sort of

Tue, September 20th, 2005 by David S.

Cool!? Crappy!? (or both)

Check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/lbstone/44076689/
to see the surprise Brandon got while watching Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO. It appears that a composite of two of his photoblog entries from last year ended up as a backdrop for one of the skits, without his knowledge. In true Brandon fashion he seems quite level headed about it all, as some people scream "sue!", some suggest "maybe someone else took the exact same picture", and others seem to think "oh well, it is probably just a
screw up".

(I've disabled the comments for this posting, to save having the same conversation here as is going on on the Flickr posting above, as well as the Google groups conversation, not to mention the Digg conversation. )

September Issue of Photoblogs Magazine Now On-Line

Sun, September 18th, 2005 by matt

SeptcoverthumbAlthough it is two weeks tardy, the September issue of Photoblogs Magazine is finally on-line. Again I am thrilled with our international participation, from Uganda to Bucharest, India to the U.S., and Argentina to Canada; and I’m as pleased as ever to provide this venue for photobloggers to condense a sample of their work and share their unique vision, as well as their informative and creative writing, with all of us. As with the previous issue, you will find both an html version and a more magazine-style, downloadable pdf format. Please stop by and have a look at http://www.photoblogsmagazine.org, and consider submitting your own work for the November issue.
Thanks,
Matt

A Brilliant Photoblog Auction Idea

Tue, September 6th, 2005 by Brandon Stone

This photoblog auction idea was just brought to my attention (via the Photoblogs discussion group.)  It's a way for any photoblogger to auction one of their photographs and to ensure that the money goes to charity.  Thanks to Rock S. Kauser for coming up with such a great idea!

If you decide to do this, please give us a permalink to your auction in the comments below.  That way we can see who's participating.  Anything we can do to raise more money for charities is a good thing.
