    excellent !

  2. william Says:

this sounded really good, until i got to the part about entry fees. 35 bucks if you are a non-member, 20 if you are. is this a common practice for open calls for shows such as these?

  3. Mute Says:

It is from what I've seen. I've never submitted to an exhibition like this but I've read about a fair few and they all seem to charge a fee to cover administration and the cost of qualified judges.

  4. Susan B. Says:

    Hey William,

Yeah, that's a standard submission practice.
I'm a member at the Center For Fine Art Photography along with about ten other non-profit galleries. It's standard to charge members less for submissions.

  5. william Says:

thanks for the responses susan and mute. i was aware of this practice for film festivals(which often is much cheaper(also hotly contested in some corners) - kind of funny considering the extreme cost of film making) but was unaware the practice extended to photography shows as well.
