Recently the Photoblogs.org Blog was mentioned in a meaty Wall Street Journal article called Happy Blogiversary. (Search near the middle-bottom of the article for a guy called "Dick Costolo"... he's the one with the snazzy glasses.)
The Journal asked 12 commentators to list some of their favorite blogs, and Costolo, group product manager of Google, selected us as one of his favorites. (Dick's the guy who recently sold his company, FeedBurner, to Google for a reported $100 million.) The article talks about the history and influence of blogging over the past 10 years including commentary from Tom Wolfe, Newt Gingrich, Mia Farrow, and more. Has it really been 10 years?
Anyhow, I just wanted to give a quick tip of the hat to Miles Storey and all the other editors of this blog, who have made this a place worth visiting. Rock on!

Our good friend Chrys just set up a Photoblogs.org group on Last.fm. Feel free to join the group. It will be interesting to see what music photobloggers listen to:

As you can see, I've updated the theme for the blog so that it matches the main Photoblogs.org website (well, the beta at least.) We're getting really, really close to launching the beta site, so I figured I'd just link the blog navigation into the beta. (In the next couple of weeks all the beta.photoblogs.org URLs will turn into www.photoblogs.org URLs.)
If you have any questions or whatever, feel free to comment.

I just upgraded our blog to the latest version of WordPress. Let me know if you see anything wierd.
Also, I changed a couple small things with the RSS/Atom feeds, so please add a comment if you have any problems and I'll get things fixed ASAP.

I'm going to do some maintenance on the blog today, so it's possible that you might see some strange things here over the next few hours. I'll make another short post once I'm done.
Update: Still working on the blog... Will continue working tomorrow. Things may be off-and-on then, too.

While things are going on in the background so we can open up posting on the blog we've added a Submit a Story link in the margin. If you have any photoblogging news, events, discussions, etc that you think photobloggers will be interested in, send it in.
Thanks!

As you've likely noticed, we've been doing some renovations around here on the blog. I'm happy to say that the move went quite smoothly. And now that we've finished with that, we get to decide on the future of things. Fortunately, we're going to have some major help in our corner...
I'd like announce that Miles Storey will be the new "head blog guy" around here. If you're lucky enough to know Miles, you also know that he is a very level-headed, kind, and talented person. I'm proud to call him a friend and I know he'll be a great addition to the blog. He has full admin privileges and will help to keep things in order around here.
We've also got a few things on our to do list...
- All the existing editors need to have their accounts set up again. (Right now no one can post here except for me and Miles.) We'll get everyone set up again, but this will take some time.
- In the meantime, we'll create a simple form where anyone can submit a story for the blog. Submitted stories will go to our growing pool of editors, who will then decide whether or not to post them.
- We'll also give this blog a graphical makeover to be consistent with the future Photoblogs.org look-and-feel.
- After we finish with that, we'll do some tweaks here and there to make things a little more useful.
I'm really happy with the way things are moving and I'm excited to see what's next over the horizon. If you have any comments or suggestions, as always, we're happy to hear them.
