I just wanted to let everyone know about a new initiative that we're starting over at Camerapedia.org.  As we've been building the encyclopedia of cameras we've realized that several camera/photography terms keep popping up, so we decided to make a glossary of all these terms.  This new Photography Glossary will be helpful for anyone who would like to know more about cameras or photography.

The best part is that this is a wiki, so anyone can go in and add information or fix anything that's already there.  And it's all under the GNU Free Documentation License, so this information is available for anyone to use in their own projects.

So, check it out, add some terms, and tell us what you think.

Due to the great response to yesterday's post about camera makes and models, I've created a new wiki site called Camerapedia.org!

This will be a great place to collect links and information about all different kinds of cameras. Since anyone can add and update information on the site, we can shape this into whatever we want it to be.

I will also use the data on Camerapedia.org to help create new Photoblogs.org features, so I'm very excited about the possibilities here.

Right now we need to migrate the information from the current List of Camera Makes and Models to the new Camerapedia.org site. If any of you would like to help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've created a List of Camera Makes and Models in the wiki. The original list was taken from the Camera Survey that we had a while back.

I'd like to ask you (yes you) to take a look at the list and check it for mistakes and omissions. Anyone (yes, even you) can edit this document and make corrections. If enough of us fix just a couple small things, then we'll have a great list that can be used to make Photoblogs.org a better site.

I'll use this list to integrate camera data into our Photoblogs.org profiles. That way we can search to see who's using what cameras.

I keep seeing something useful on a site somewhere, then quickly forgetting it and months later naturally can't find it any more. To save myself and others from this affliction, I've created a Photography Links page on the Wiki. I've started out with a few sites that immediately popped into my head, but everyone's invited and encouraged to add any new links and categories. I'll also endeavour to add any links that appear here as they come.

I've been getting several emails from people who want to start their own photoblog, but they really don't know much about blogging or the web.

So I've created a page in the wiki called Starting Your Own Photoblog. It would be great if we could work together to create this page for the uninitiated.

Welcoming and helping new photobloggers is a good thing.

I created a new section in the wiki called Photoblogs in Press and Publications. If you know of any places that Photoblogs.org or any photoblogs have been mentioned in the press or in publications, you can add them to that page.

It would be nice to see who has been mentioned where.
